Event Details
On January 12, 2020, the first Holocaust exhibit in Chula Vista opened at the Chula Vista Heritage Museum, located in the Civic Center Branch Library at 365 F Street; RUTH: “Remember Us The Holocaust”.
A wonderful highlight of the exhibit was the grand opening event.
Friends and supporters gathered and welcomed a unique and important exhibit to Chula Vista.
Over the next months, many students, educators, and organizations toured the exhibit and learned about the horrors of the Holocaust.
They left shaken and moved to pledge to do all they could to never let such a horrific event happen again. This exhibit went on to receive international acclaim.
It started with a dream, and it turned into reality.
The closing brunch with featured speakers Mayor Mary Casillas Salas and humanitarian Lothian Skelton will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Civic Center Branch Library.
The brunch will be Kosher, catered by Chabad of Chula Vista.
Proceeds will benefit the South Bay Historical Society.
The Society's goal is to continue our work to preserve our history, bring meaningful events to our community, and provide buses for students to see the exhibits.
The South Bay Historical Society is committed to preserving the past so that future generations can learn for the future.
