May Beach Booth with Murph Chalenge, Tug-o-War, Beach Cleanup, BBQ and Celebration for finishing updates to the Bill Walton Basketball Court
Event Details
Join us on May 28th for a fun filled day of celebration. San Diego BIG will be joining partners to bring you several events to come and enjoy at the beach. Come to South Mission Beach Sports Park and support keeping our beaches beautiful.
Schedule for the day:
8:00 am Checkin for beach cleanup, Murph Challenge or Kid's Basketball Clinic (Ages 6-16)
8:30 am Kids Basketball Clinic
9:00 am Murph Challenge sponsored by F45
10:30am Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate 25 Years of Sports Courts at South Mission Beach & Bill Walton
11:00am Tug-O-War or 5-on-5 Basketball Play
12:00pm BBQ Lunch
Sign up as an individual or 4-man team for Murph Challenge and/or Tug-O-War. $5/pp donation is required. These events are sponsored by F45 and San Diego Beach Improvement Group.
Kid’s clinic and 5-on-5 basketball is free and open to the public. Events are sponsored by Venice Ball and Hoopbus from Los Angeles. We will be celebrating the completion of refurbishing and resurfacing basketball court project. Contributions from Bill Walton over the last 25 years to the sports courts at South Mission Beach will be honored with a ribbon cutting.
Lunch will be available for $10/plate. Proceeds of the event go toward maintenance and beautification projects at the beach with our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, San Diego Beach Improvement Group. Learn more at www.SanDiegoBIG.org.
