Join us Sunday April 3rd, from 11am-1pm at Vista La Mesa Park for a picnic and Easter basket volunteer event with the entire family!
Join us Sunday April 3rd, from 11am-1pm at Vista La Mesa Park for a picnic and Easter basket volunteer event that the entire family can get involved in. The goal of San Diego Moms Care events is to bridge the gap and create opportunities for families to volunteer with younger kids!
During the event we will be sorting, assembling and putting together Easter baskets to donate to Feeding the Flock, a local San Diego Non-Profit that serves families in need.
Pack a lunch, and enjoy a day of giving back filled with music, crafts and fun. Once all the Easter baskets are assembled kids (and adults!) can play at the playground and enjoy time outdoors!
Here's how it works and tips for preparing your kiddos to volunteer:
Purchase your $5 family ticket. (This fee helps us purchase spplies - only one ticket per family)
You bring $5-$10+ in Easter basket goodies to donate: candy, bubbles, stickers, activity kits, anything you would put in your child's Easter basket.
If you don't have time to shop for supplies you can Venmo Niki-Jones-1 $5-$10 before March 30th and 100% of that money will go to purchase Easter basket goodies on your behalf. Please include your full name and Easter Event in the body of the venmo.
San Diego Moms will provide easter baskets to assemble, crafts and cards, limited amounts of goodies to go in the Easter baskets so we are counting on you!
Tips to prepare your kids for this volunteer event:
Have your kiddo ask other friends and family members to donate $5 to go shopping with for the donations.
It is important to go shopping with your kids and explain what you are buying and why - if you can't take them shopping, just make sure to communicate with them on the way and throughout the week.
Have them pick a gently used Easter book to donate to Feeding the Flock.

About Feeding the Flock: Feeding the Flock San Diego is an outreach program that helps connect people with the appropriate services, safe shelter, food, rehab, jobs while gaining life skills. They have found that when people support one another, there’s no limit to what we can do.
They are on a mission is to serve their neighbors in a loving and compassionate environment. They also provide weekly open pantries to families in need. Read more about who they serve and how.
San Diego Moms Care, is a new initiative of the San Diego Moms. Our mission is simple: to support and connect families to local non-profits through volunteering, fundraising and raising awareness. We are committed to giving back to our local San Diego community and teaching our children the importance of volunteering and community service. In this section you will find some amazing non-profit resources, services and volunteer opportunities available for families.
