The Village House Kalina brings the cultural heritage of Eastern Europe to La Mesa in our comfortable and inviting restaurant space where you, your friends, and family will feel right at home. Our mission is to instill feelings of warmth, hospitality, and zeal through the recipes of our great Babyshka (grandmother). We offer authentic dishes that fit any appetite, from appetizers such as Eggplant Salad and Ikra Badijannaya to soups like our famous Ukrainian Borscht and entrees including Chicken Tabaka, and Stroganoff. The Village House also proudly serves Shashlik. No genuine Russian restaurant could be complete without this masterpiece as a juicy skewer of meat, marinated and grilled to perfection and garnished with vegetables and served with pomegranate sauce on the side.
